Description
The Chelsea 489 Series Power Take-Off Assembly, part number 489XQAHX-A3XR or 489XQAHXA3XR, mounts directly to an 8-bolt transmission opening on most manual transmissions including Eaton/Fuller, Volvo/Mack, and Tremec units. The one-piece cast iron housing eliminates the adapter plate found on earlier designs, reducing both installation time and potential leak paths. Wire/cable mechanical shift actuation is standard on this unit. The 1-1/4″ round output shaft (with key) delivers up to 48 HP at 1,000 RPM and carries an intermittent torque rating of 201-300 lb-ft for the 489 Series. Tapered output bearings replace needle bearings for greater load-bearing capacity. Internal components are common to the Chelsea 442 Series, keeping the parts inventory straightforward for shops already familiar with that platform.
