Description
The Chelsea 489XLDAX-A5XD or 489XLDAXA5XD is a 489 Series Power Take-Off assembly designed for manual transmissions with an 8-bolt PTO mounting opening, including Eaton/Fuller, Volvo/Mack, and Tremec applications. The one-piece cast iron housing bolts directly to the 8-bolt aperture, eliminating the need for an adapter plate and reducing potential leak paths. Wire/cable mechanical shift is standard on this unit. The output shaft is a 1-1/4″ round shaft with keyway. Shaft power is rated at 24 HP at 500 RPM and 48 HP at 1,000 RPM, with an intermittent torque rating of 201-300 lb-ft for this series. Internal parts are shared with the Chelsea 442 Series, and the unit features tapered bearings rather than needle bearings for increased load-bearing capacity.
