Description
The Chelsea 489XLAHX-A3XP or 489XLAHXA3XP is a 489 Series power take-off assembly built for manual transmissions with an 8-bolt PTO mounting aperture, including Eaton Fuller, Volvo/Mack, and Tremec units. The one-piece cast iron housing bolts directly to the 8-bolt opening without an adapter plate, reducing potential leak paths and cutting installation time. Shift is wire/cable mechanical. The 1-1/4″ round output shaft is available with a key configuration. Intermittent torque for the 489 Series is 250 lb-ft (339 Nm); shaft power runs 24 HP at 500 RPM and 48 HP at 1,000 RPM. Tapered bearings replace needle bearings for greater load-bearing capability. Internal parts are common to the Chelsea 442 Series, keeping rebuild parts accessible.
